Their condo at the Geneva Landings on Delavan Lake provided the perfect opportunity — a smaller footprint with potential for dramatic improvement. Every surface and detail of the condo was refreshed to elevate it beyond its original builder-grade finishes. From flooring and cabinetry to millwork, lighting, and layout, the goal was to maximize function and deliver a sense of calm sophistication. Each space was designed to live large, feel personal, and serve multiple purposes.
A major transformation took place in the kitchen, where a restrictive peninsula was removed and replaced with a spacious island that improved both flow and usability. Extending cabinetry to the ceiling enhanced storage and created a high-end aesthetic. The inclusion of a wine fridge within the island added both luxury and convenience. Intentional lighting choices and coordinated finishes tied the space seamlessly to the open dining and living areas.
At the heart of the dining space sits a cherished family heirloom — a hutch that was to be the centerpiece of the design. Custom cabinetry and floating shelves were crafted to complement the hutch’s finish, blending classic charm with modern function. The living area centers around a newly designed fireplace that enhances warmth and visual focus. Updated stonework, a reimagined mantle, and floating shelves create harmony with the clients’ meaningful art and keepsakes. Added recessed lighting, crown molding, and refined millwork brought a sense of unity and elegance to this focal space.
One of the bedrooms was redesigned as a flexible space, serving as both an office and guest room. Custom built-ins, concealed technology storage, and a cozy window seat support productivity while preserving comfort. The expanded layout added a spacious shower and separated toilet area, which were achieved by modifying the adjacent mechanical space and installing an on-demand water heater. The hallway and laundry spaces were re-envisioned for better function and style. A stacked washer and dryer configuration freed up room for cabinetry, shelving, and charging stations. A former hallway niche became a display area, integrating a beloved furniture piece and adding visual warmth to a previously overlooked space.
The back bedroom, used for visiting family, was creatively arranged to accommodate two twin bunk beds and a queen bed. Each bunk includes personal lighting and individual outlets with USB charging ports. Subtle shiplap walls, a sliding barn door closet, and custom trim bring texture and charm, making it a welcoming haven for grandchildren and guests alike.
Luxury vinyl plank flooring runs throughout, uniting the spaces with warmth and durability. Shiplap accents, crown molding, and a curated mix of brushed gold and black hardware create an elegant and timeless feel.
