Cory and Kristin Aune were in the middle of moving their pub and pizza restaurant. They were moving from their familiar Elkhorn location to a new spot in Delavan. They knew they wanted to build a custom bar, but they needed to bring in a partner that could create a centerpiece.
When Cory called us in to help, we knew that it would be a perfect job for our lead carpenter, Denny Vingers. Denny has been a carpenter for nearly 40 years and has created all kinds of unique and beautiful remodeling projects – along with custom furniture. He has the passion and skill to create almost anything our clients can dream up – especially if it’s made from wood.
We used maple to create the bar top and bullnose, which combines with the natural lighting to keep the entire space bright. We also used fencing material for the front of the bar, which maintains the rustic look. Since it is located across from Dellbrook Golf Course, Cory added scorecards from courses across the nation. This adds to the theme of the pub and creates a great spot for golfers looking for a place to stop and grab a bite to eat after their round.
One unique aspect of the new location is the tap beer wall. The self-tappers allow patrons to pour their own beer or wine, providing the opportunity to taste-test many different local brews – an ounce or two at a time. To make this wall an even bigger draw, Denny finished it with the same fencing material from the front of the bar to give it a look to match the bar.
