After experiencing the incredible transformation of their Lake Geneva home (performed by Stebnitz Builders just two years ago) Chris and Melanie knew exactly who to call. They needed Stebnitz Builders to design and build two projects for their parent’s new home in Symphony Bay. Located near the clubhouse in this premier active-adult community in Lake Geneva, they wanted to finish the lower level and convert the covered porch into a three-season room. They sought to transform both into functional, stylish spaces.
The lower level needed to support large family events while still being cozy and functional. It should be an open-concept design, flexible for entertaining, and must have a full bath, wet bar, fireplace and dedicated pool table space along with storage/mechanical space.
We featured stylish, low-maintenance finishes to make it easier for Melanie’s parents to clean and maintain. The design ensured that the lower level was not only beautiful, but accessible and practical – ready for entertaining. Durable LVP flooring was chosen for the entertaining and kitchenette areas. Strategically designing the fireplace and television in the center of this space allowed for optimal viewing throughout.
The kitchenette features painted shiplap, quartz countertops and custom floating shelves. The custom-built fireplace surround, finished in white painted shiplap and rough-sawn mantel, compliment the kitchenette while beautifully highlighting the linear fireplace.
The bathroom features a painted vanity with quartz countertop, and beautiful marble subway-tiled shower with brushed nickel fixtures.
The custom bookshelves and cabinets installed just outside the bathroom were the perfect complement to the space while providing a wonderful space for display and storage that her parents were looking for.
In addition to the lower level, we transformed their covered deck into a three-season room. Enclosing the deck provides Melanie’s parents a space they can enjoy for a greater portion of the year while being protected from bugs and inclement weather conditions. The large windows maintained the openness of the original deck and the radiant heater ensures the room would remain comfortable in almost any season.
