Carol had long envisioned updating her primary bathroom to better serve her grandchildren, family, and guests. Located in her mid-century modern home in Elkhorn, the space had largely remained true to its original 1950s design. While a previous modification introduced a walk-in tub to accommodate her husband’s needs, the focus in recent years shifted toward creating a more functional, welcoming environment for her children and grandchildren.
Working closely with the homeowner, Lynne Landgraf and Chopper Anderson thoughtfully reimagined the space to enhance both aesthetics and usability. A primary goal was removing the dated pink and gray tile that dominated the room, replacing it with timeless finishes that feel fresh while complementing the home’s architectural character. The vanity was redesigned to maximize storage and improve daily functionality, while upgraded lighting introduced both enhanced task performance and a warm, inviting ambiance.
Equally important was ensuring the bathroom would continue to meet the homeowner’s long-term needs. The shower and tub area were carefully reconfigured to balance comfort and accessibility, creating a more private and versatile space designed to adapt over time.
Although the existing layout remained practical, the outdated finishes no longer reflected the quality and character Carol envisioned. Having previously partnered with Stebnitz Builders on her kitchen remodel, she moved forward with confidence in the team’s craftsmanship, communication, and process. The result is a refreshed bathroom that honors the home’s mid-century roots while delivering modern comfort, functionality, and lasting value for generations to come.
